Climb Everest by the North Ridge from Tibet

Introduction

Jagged Globe is the most successful British company organising expeditions to the North side of Everest. Managing Director, Simon Lowe, first visited this side of the mountain in 1988 as part of a military expedition to climb the more difficult West Ridge. Since then, we have run three expeditions to the North Ridge; in 1994, 1996 and 2005. Our 2005 expedition put 8 out of 11 team members (leaders and climbers) on the summit on 3 and 4 June, in a particularly poor weather year. On the North Ridge, we provide a high level of support - expert leadership, one sherpa per team member, 3 camps above the North Col and plentiful supplies of oxygen. Alternatively, you may wish to attempt Everest via the South Col from Neapl. Statistically, the South Col route sees a higher rate of success, but logistics mean it is considerably more expensive than the North Ridge.

Experience Required

To join the Everest team you will need to have extensive mountaineering experience. This should include previous high altitude experience of at least 6,000 metres, mixed with a multitude of Alpine mountaineering and, preferably, you will have taken part in a previous 8,000-metre expedition.
