Saas Fee is one of Switzerland's great skiing resorts. By chance, it is surrounded by some of the least difficult 4,000m peaks in the Alps, many of which are attainable on skis. The mountains are well served by mechanical uplift and by mountain huts, making the area ideal for a high-level hut tour. The skiing is of limited technical difficulty but the altitude requires a good level of fitness from course participants. It is an exciting tour enabling those relatively new to ski touring to ascend several summits over 4,000m high.

Grade: Intermediate/Advanced
Start point: Hotel Roby, Saas Grund

Outline Programme

Day 1:	Course participants meet at the course base in Saas Grund at 7pm. Briefing on the week's activities in the evening.
Day 2:	Ascend Allalinhorn 4,027m, ski to Britannia Hut.
Day 3:	Ascend Fluchthorn 3,790m, ski to Britannia Hut.
Day 4:	Ascend Strahlhorn 4,190m then ski over the Adler pass down to the charming hut at Fluealp.
Day 5:	Ascend to 4,009m Rimpfischorn. Ski summit ski to Tasch Hut.
Day 6:	After ascending Alphubel 4,206m the fantastic 2,400m vertical descent to Saas awaits.
Day 7:	Spare day for bad weather or a day tour to the 4,164m Breithorn above Zermatt which would be a fantastic end to the week. Return to our hotel for our final night before dispersing the following morning.

Pre-Course Skiing Ability

To join this Intermediate/Advanced level hut-to-hut tour, you need to be a competent off-piste skier/ski mountaineer capable of skiing slopes up to 35-45° and ascending for 4/5 hours with a 10-12kg pack. Ice axe and crampons will be required.
