Most of our trekking itineraries were designed originally to deliver mountaineers to base camps, well acclimatised, ready to climb. We have always done this extremely well. For example, on Kilimanjaro we usually get everyone to the top, simply because we know how people acclimatise, and we plan accordingly.
Whether trekker or climber, we believe that everyone should benefit from the same well-measured itineraries, under the care of experienced high-altitude leaders. No team member deserves to fail by someone else's disregard of the time needed to acclimatise. So, if you compare our trekking itineraries with others, in general you will find them longer. This is to make you better acclimatised so not only may you complete the trek, but so you will enjoy every day of the walk as well, immersing yourself in the life and culture of the mountains as you travel. Our trek leaders pride themselves on a thorough knowledge of the mountains, the people who live there, the flora, the fauna and the diverse cultures of the region in which you will be travelling. They have been chosen for their ability to handle matters with sensitivity and regard for the well-being of trek members, as well as giving every consideration to the sensibilities of the local people you will meet whilst trekking. |
